Learn more about your food with detailed nutrition information, ingredients and highlighted allergens on the back of all Sainsbury’s own-brand food and drink products.
If you’d like to know more about the food you’re eating, we recommend using back of pack labelling to read about levels of energy, fat, saturates, sugars, salt and Reference Intakes, or how to avoid allergens.
Traffic light colours
The back of pack nutrition table shows colour-coded fat, saturates, sugars and salt, along with actual amounts. It highlights if they contain high (red), medium (amber) or low (green) amounts, just like the front of pack.
For a healthier diet, eat more greens and ambers and fewer reds.
The nutrition table shows what percentage of Reference Intakes (RIs) a serving provides, helping you eat a more balanced diet. Where space allows, it also shows the actual RI figures for an average adult. RIs are a guide to the maximum amount of nutrients an adult should consume in a day (based on an average female adult).
You’ll find a breakdown of all the major nutrients and salt in the food or drink on the back of the label. This information is given per 100g and per serving. There is no longer an RI for fibre, but general advice is to aim for a minimum of 24g a day.
Front of pack labelling
Our easy-to-read nutrition information has simple colour-coding and tells you what percentage of your Reference Intakes a serving provides.
Ingredients and allergens
Ingredient lists on the back of packs show exactly what’s in our food and drink products. Allergens – including wheat, milk and eggs – are highlighted in bold, making them easier to spot.
