Meet our milk farmers

Meet our milk farmers

The Sainsbury’s Dairy Development Group (SDDG) launched in 2007. We have farmers based in 13 regions across the UK. There are 290 farmers that are part of the group and they’ve got some great stories to tell.

Click on one of our farmer pictures to find out more about how they became a dairy farmer and how we’re helping them develop their farms.

Some of our great farmer stories include:

  • Abi Reader from Glamorgan South Wales: She’s a third generation farmer on Goldsland Farm. She’s doing amazing things for the industry both locally and nationally, including being a Vice President of her local young farmers club, County Chairman for NFU Cymru and Wales Dairy Farmer Ambassador for the Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board for Dairy.
  • Chris and Erika Bargh from Lancashire, who’s children Lucy, Robert & Emma all help out on the farm. They host between 25 – 30 school visits a year and use 3 Fullwood Merlin robots that help milk the cows for them.
  • The Webb Family from Gloucestershire, who have invested in cattle housing and a CCTV system so they can regularly monitor the cows from their farm’s office.
