Christmas 2015, world-renowned author and illustrator Judith Kerr had created a brand new picture book to sit at the heart of our campaign, featuring her ever popular character, Mog, who first appeared in the book Mog the Forgetful Cat in 1970.
The lovable, forgetful family cat stars in ‘Mog’s Christmas Calamity’ and, true to form, causes all sorts of Christmas mischief in the Thomas household.
When Mog falls asleep on Christmas Eve, she unwittingly creates unimaginable chaos and the Thomas family fears that Christmas will have to be cancelled. However, with a little help from Mog, the neighbours and their friends, the Thomas family manages to share a very special Christmas together after all.
We, along with Judith Kerr and HarperCollins Children’s Books will be donated every penny of profit from the sale of ‘Mog’s Christmas Calamity’ during Christmas 2015 to Save the Children. The money donated to Save the Children will go towards their UK literacy work and will also give funding to support the aims of the national Read On. Get On. campaign of which they are a founding member.
We are proud that Judith Kerr has chosen to work with us to support this important cause and hope that families across the country will enjoy reading this very special Christmas story.
